We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement & Inventory Control Coordinator to join our growing team.
Position Summary

The Procurement & Inventory Control Coordinator is responsible for managing the procurement of materials, supplies, and services while maintaining accurate inventory levels across multiple departments. This role plays a critical part in ensuring uninterrupted production by coordinating purchasing activities, monitoring inventory, maintaining vendor relationships, and ensuring compliance with Health Canada regulations and company SOPs. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and experience working within a regulated manufacturing environment.
 
Key Responsibilities Procurement:
  • Source and purchase raw materials, packaging components, office supplies, production materials, and other operational requirements.
  • Obtain competitive quotes & negotiate pricing, lead times, & supplier agreements.
  • Create & issue purchase orders while tracking deliveries & resolving supplier issues.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with approved vendors.
  • Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, pricing, and delivery timelines.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
 
Inventory Control:
  • Monitor inventory levels to ensure adequate stock while minimizing excess inventory.
  • Perform routine inventory audits and cycle counts.
  • Investigate and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records within ERP or inventory management systems.
  • Coordinate inventory transfers and product movements between departments.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy supports production schedules and customer demand.
 
Compliance & Reporting:
  • Ensure purchasing and inventory activities comply with Health Canada Cannabis Regulations and internal SOPs.
  • Maintain documentation required for audits and regulatory inspections.
  • Assist with inventory reconciliations and reporting.
  • Prepare inventory, purchasing, and usage reports for management.
  • Support month-end inventory reporting and variance analysis.
 
Collaboration:
  • Work closely with Production, Quality Assurance, Finance, Compliance, and Operations teams.
  • Coordinate material requirements to support production schedules.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on inventory accuracy and purchasing efficiency.
 
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5+ years of procurement and/or inventory control experience.
  • Work experience within analytic, forecasting, production demand planning, or order management areas.
  • Prior experiences which demonstrate heavy utilization and mastery of Excel, PowerBI or other data systems to drive understanding. Be able to demonstrate leveraging technology to gain insight from various data sources. This is a "Creator" role where creativity in approach is important to gaining insight.
  • Proficient In Microsoft 365 suite of products, demonstrated ability to learn new technology platforms.
  • Own the analytics and reporting of the end-to-end customer forecast, shipment and consumption process with the accountability of driving accuracy of forecast, understanding of inventory and associated risk and opportunities, drivers of variance and dynamics.
  • Previous experience within the cannabis, pharmaceutical, food manufacturing, or other regulated manufacturing industry is considered a strong asset.
  • Experience with ERP or inventory management software.
 
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Comfortable working in production and warehouse environments.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  •  Diploma or Certificate in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • SCMP, PMAC, or equivalent supply chain designation is considered an asset.
  • Experience with cannabis inventory tracking systems such as Sortly software is an asset.
